Lit Crawl is the fabulous night of literary festivities that precedes Wordstock, Portland's annual Day of the Book. This is our first year taking part in both these events, and we're stoked. We want to see you there!
On Friday November 4, we'll enjoy a special pop-up Silent Reading Party--forty-five minutes of intense silent reading in the company of good folks and good food and drink--at Cassidy's Restaurant. If you've never been to Cassidy's, Portland Eater calls it "sanctuary of serenity and righteous bar food" with a generous happy hour selection. Check us out on the Lit Crawl schedule, and join us from 6 - 6:45 pm.
Then on Saturday November 5, we'll hold down a Wordstock table at the Portland Art Museum aaaaaallllllll day, so you know we want to see you! Wordstock is going to be a blast. We're talking Alexander Chee, Rivka Galchen, Yaa Gyasi, Adam Haslett, Jim Lynch, Eimar McBride, Helen Phillips, Emma Straub, Laini Taylor, Colson Whitehead...AND US! We'll be in the exhibit hall, breaking silence to spread the word about Silent Reading Party. Come see us, and see what tricks we have up our sleeve to celebrate the day!
And if you can't wait for any of that, remember we have a regularly-scheduled Silent Reading Party coming up on Sunday October 23 from 3-5 pm at Beech Street Parlor. Join us for spooky reads, just in time for Halloween!
