Thanks to all you lovely people who turned out for Sunday afternoon's Silent Reading Party!
Beech Street Parlor opened up two hours early just for us, giving us the whole sunny, breeze-filled house. We listened to ambient tunes and drank Quiet Afternoons, ate deviled eggs and toasted cornbread, and turned pages. It was a thing of beauty.
This month we had a special bonus--free books!! Thanks to Book Riot and Multnomah County Library for donating copies of Nova Ren Suma's The Walls Around Us, Noah Hawley's Before The Fall, and Alexander Chee's much-awaited second novel The Queen of the Night. We hope you got your hands on a copy of one of these great titles.
Look for our next Silent Reading Party to happen in about a month--we hope to see you there!!
