In case you missed it, we're reading at Cacao in the West End next Tuesday, February 21, from 6-8 pm. February is one of Oregon's toughest months, so we're going to fortify ourselves with some of Cacao's incredible drinking chocolate (see above) and a couple of hours of quiet time to read.
If you're looking for something new and gorgeous to read, maybe you'll get one of our giveawaycopies of Jenny Forrester's NARROW RIVER, WIDE SKY. Forrester's debut memoir will be published in May 2017, but we've got early copies for Silent Reading Partiers.
On the Colorado Plateau between slot canyons and rattlesnakes, Jenny Forrester grew up with her mother and brother in a single-wide trailer proudly displaying an American flag. With sensitivity and resilience, Forrester navigates feelings of isolation, an abusive boyfriend, sexual assault, and a failed college attempt to forge a separate identity.
Big big thanks to Hawthorne Books for giving us first look at this amazing, beautiful, challenging book.
Join us next Tuesday evening for chocolate, books, and quiet. Happy reading!
