June Silent Reading Party: Summer Extravanga!

In case you missed it, our June Silent Reading Party is going to be a once-in-a-summer event. We've partnered with The Side Yard Farm, Sweetheart Bakery, Ruchikala, and Pearl Soda to create a reading party with custom cocktails, Indian-Mexican fusion, and sweet baked goods at a gorgeous NE Portland urban farm.

You can find the event details here.  Let us know you're coming!  June 28, 6-9 pm.  Tickets are $25, and they include a meal, a cocktail, and a sweet treat.  Bring your own book, and a sweater if you get chilly.  We'll see you there!

April 30: Silent Reading Party at Mother Foucault's Bookshop

April's Silent Reading Party will be in a new location--Mother Foucault's Bookshop, 523 SE Morrison St, Portland, OR 97214.  If you haven't been there before, you're in for a treat.  It's like stepping back into Shakespear & Co. of the 1920s.  Expect cookies & tea by donation, ambient tunes on vinyl, and maybe some floor-sitting.

February 21: Silent Reading Party at Cacao

Just a reminder that our next Silent Reading Party will be at Cacao's West End location, 414 SW 13th Avenue, on Tuesday February 21 from 6 to 8 pm.  Seating will be limited.  Cacao offers the city's most incredible drinking chocolate, as well as a vast selection of chocolates from around the world.  Perfect for celebrating Valentine's Day with a good book!

Silent Reading Party at Lit Crawl and Wordstock

We'll be partying it up, silent-reading-style, at Lit Crawl and Wordstock this weekend.  Join us Friday, November 4 at Cassidy's Restaurant (1331 SW Washington St) for a special Lit Crawl edition of Silent Reading Party.  We'll read quietly from 6 - 6:45 pm, then send you off to your next Lit Crawl event.

Then come back Saturday, November 5 to see us at Wordstock.  We'll be tabling in the Kridel Grand Ballroom at the Portland Art Museum (1219 SW Park Ave) from 9 am - 6 pm, with Book Riot.  Come tell us what you're reading, find out about January and February Silent Reading Parties, get a books-and-booze pairing, and more!

Our next Silent Reading Parties: October and November dates!

We've got two new Silent Reading Parties on the books!

Join us for a spooky Halloween-themed Silent Reading Party on Sunday, October 23 from 3-5 pm at Beech Street Parlor.  Read a spooky book, wear a spooky costume!  We'll play spooky tunes and provide some seasonal treats.


Mark your calendar for the night of Friday, November 4 for a special Silent Reading Party with Lit Crawl!  Join us from 6 - 6:45 pm at Cassidy's Restaurant for some delicious downtime with a book, snack, and cocktail before you head off to your next Lit Crawl event.


Save a little oomph to come visit us at Wordstock on Saturday, November 5!  You can buy your Wordstock tickets--which entitle you to a whole day of literary greatness at the Portland Art Museum and around town--here

Our next Silent Reading Party will be a special one in a brand-new location.  To take advantage of Portland's all-too-brief summer sunshine, we've snagged the gorgeous rooftop deck at the Society Hotel for a special pop-up Silent Reading Party. Join us for fabulous views, ambient tunes, and two hours of uninterrupted time to read whatever you want. 

Space is limited so this is a ticketed event Your $10 ticket gets you admission and a cocktail, plus complimentary earplugs and did we mention that view?  Snacks and more beverages are available for purchase at the Society Hotel cafe and lounge.
